When CSPI conducted tests on some popular brands of French fries and chips, they found that the acrylamide in a large order of fast food fries was at least 300 times the amount allowed by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in a glass of water.

When possible, buy the baked variety.

3. Doughnuts

Break a doughnut down and you’ll discover nothing more than refined sugar and flour, artificial flavors and partially hydrogenated oil thatis packed with trans fats. They have no redeeming qualities at all.

If the sweet snack is something you just love as a treat, then make them from scratch at home. Buy a donut maker and you can skip the artificial flavors and the oil and trans fats.
